Massage tuition
for couples

A session at the spa with me guiding you both. You practice on each other while I correct the technique as you go.

What I cover

These sessions are for couples and I run them myself. You both come in together. I take you through the technique and watch what you're doing, correcting things as we go, so that by the end you both know how to do it properly at home.

What I teach is the foundations of a full body massage. Long strokes, kneading, where to lean and where to lighten, the pace and pressure that actually relaxes someone rather than feeling rushed. It isn't a qualification course. It's enough for you to give your partner, or a friend or family member, a proper hour of massage that genuinely helps.

Sessions usually run 60 to 90 minutes. There's no clock on the wall and the pace fits whatever you're picking up.

The spa is naturist, but tuition is whatever you're comfortable with. Some couples work fully naked, some keep underwear on, some stay clothed for the demonstration and undress for the practice. We'll talk through it before we start.

How a session runs

  1. 1
    Settle in

Tea or coffee, brief chat about what you're after, any back trouble between you, what kind of pressure each of you tends to like. A few minutes, no more.

  2. 2
    I demonstrate

One of you on the table, the other watching. I work through a sequence on your partner and explain what I'm doing as I go. Ask anything.

  3. 3
    You take over

You swap. Whoever was watching now works on their partner with me alongside, correcting hands, pressure and pace until it starts to feel right.

  4. 4
    And then you swap again

So you both leave knowing how to do it for each other, not just one of you.

Why it works the way it does

Taught by the founder

Three decades of practice. I correct your hands as you work, not after, so the technique gets fixed in your body the right way the first time.

A real spa room

The same table, the same oils, the same room a paying client books. Not a kitchen chair and a YouTube tab.

Just the two of you

Not a group class. No strangers in the room, no rushing to keep up with anyone else. We go at the pace that suits you.

You leave able to do it

By the end you'll have enough technique to give your partner a proper hour at home. Not a recital of moves. Real, useful massage.

Tantra tuition

This is a separate session, not part of the full body workshop. The two are different work and I don't combine them.

If you and your partner want to learn the foundations of tantric massage together, I run couples tuition for that as well. It's slower and quieter work, and the touch matters less than the attention behind it. Couples come for a range of reasons. Some want to bring something back into a long relationship. Others want a shared practice they can take home. A few are simply curious about the work and want to try it together.

One thing worth saying plainly. Tantric work can surface real emotion, even in a teaching session, and sometimes for the person giving rather than receiving. That isn't a problem. It's part of why couples often find this changes something between them. But it helps to know in advance.

If you aren't sure which workshop fits, call and ask.

Coming in for a look first

You can pop in during opening hours, have a coffee with whoever's on reception, and we'll show you around the spa and answer anything you want to ask. You'll see the rooms you'd be using, meet whoever's working that day, and there's no obligation either way.

Some couples find that easier than committing over the phone. It costs nothing and there's no pressure to book at the end of it.

About me

I'm Antonio, and I run The Workshop. I've worked as a qualified therapist continuously since 1995. Over several years of training I studied aromatherapy, reflexology, acupressure, essential oils and oriental diagnostics, with my formal training rooted in the Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy. I hold membership of the International Federation of Aromatherapists.

I run the couples tuition myself rather than passing it to the rota. Three decades of practice means I can spot what your hands are doing wrong and tell you how to fix it without breaking the flow of what you're learning.

I also take couples for sessions by request, usually with a day or two's notice, if after the tuition you'd rather receive a treatment than give one.

If you want to talk through what you're looking for before booking, I'm usually around. Just call the spa and ask for me.

Talk it through first.

Call us to ask anything before you book. There's no rush, and no pressure either way.
